Here are some of the things you can do at the library...

Wireless Internet
The library is powered by Axia Supernet. Use it on our public access computers or your own device and avoid a “high-speed” headache.

Annual Library Card Fees:

Adult / Children / Family: Free!

Non-Resident: $30

Alberta Wide Borrowing (ME Libraries)
Library members can register with non-Parkland public libraries across the province to easily borrow physical items (not eContent) using their Parkland Regional Library card. Borrowed materials can be returned to any public library, too. All this for free!

Interlibrary Loans
Borrow print and audio books, movies, music CDs, game discs and even journal and newspaper articles from libraries across the province. Request items online using your Parkland Regional Library card number and PIN or ask library staff to find / request items for you. We will look far and wide – beyond Alberta and even internationally – to track down specific items and contact you when your item arrives so you can pick it up.

Books by Mail
Have difficulty getting to the library when it’s open? We have a direct mail service.  You can request books, CDs, DVDs, and other items in our catalogue to be delivered to your mailbox by Canada Post – for FREE!

Photocopying / Printing
The library can satisfy your need for black and white copying/printing for $0.35 per page. Colour copies are available for $0.50 per page. We also fax and scan. Just ask us!

Reading Suggestions and Research Help
Looking for your next enthralling read or video content on a theme? Library staff can match you to the perfect book, movie, documentary, or audiobook. We can also help you find information on any topic imaginable from family history research to raising chickens in your backyard.

Alternate Formats for Print Disabilities
Albertans unable to use conventional print materials due to a print disability (visual, physical or cognitive) have a number of options to access materials in alternate formats.  Our library can provide access to large print books, audio books on discs or in digital format (direct to device or computer), braille books, described video and equipment (i.e. DAISY readers).  We can also help you register for services through the National Network for Equitable Library Service (NNELS) or the Centre for Equitable Library Access (CELA).

Grant Connect
This intuitive online database can help non-profits and charities find grants that are relevant to their goals and initiatives. Available for use in all Parkland Regional libraries.  Access it in the eLibrary or by clicking here. Please note: you must be physically present in the library to use Grant Connect.

Outreach & Homebound Delivery
If you are unable to visit the library yourself, our outreach co-ordinator will deliver materials to your home or care facility.

Exam Invigilation (Proctoring)
Ideal for distance learners or anyone who needs to write regular certification exams, the library provides a quiet space and exam supervisor.  Book a time with staff prior to your exam arrival to make sure we can accommodate you. There is a charge of $20 per exam.

Equipment & Other Non-Traditional Items
The Stettler Public Library loans out non-book materials such as a family pass to the Stettler Recreation Centre, eReaders, iPads, pedometers, DAISY book readers, board games, projectors, and other items. Ask staff about all the exciting things you can borrow from us!

There are also many materials for in-library use such as our 3D printer, 3D scanner, gaming stations, 4K camera & tripod, button maker, and photo booth. If there's a piece of equipment you'd like to see in the library, let us know!

Birthday Parties
Custom themed birthday parties are available at the library at a cost of $120 for up to 10 children. An additional $10 will be applied for each child when more than 10 children are in attendance. Call or message the library for further details.

Send us suggestions online for new items to add to our collection! Or contact us if there's a program you would like to see here!

Friends of the Library
If you love the library, you may wish to join the Friends of the SPL and help out with awareness and fundraising. New members are always welcome.
